Respite Programs

Community Respite Care

Respite care provides short-term relief for both the primary caregiver and the recipient.

Here are just some of the benefits that can be accomplished:

  • Increased social engagement and decreased isolation

  • Promotes relaxation

  • Provides assistance and support

  • Prevents bad habits

  • Boosts social, emotional, and physical health

  • Reduces friction between the primary caregiver and the care recipient

  • Allows the primary caregiver to have a sense of identity

It is critical for the primary caregiver’s mental and physical health to get a break.

If you feel exhausted and overwhelmed, respite care can allow you to step away, even for just a few hours. It is not uncommon for primary caregivers to feel overwhelmed. Respite care can be used to help support and stabilize the family dynamic.

Respite sessions can be:

  • Services each day

  • Once a week

  • Monthly

  • Occasional weekends (check availability)

  • Group and one-on-one
